Quick Answer: Gear inches = wheel diameter (in.) × (chainring teeth ÷ cog teeth). A 700c wheel is ~26.4″ in diameter, so a 50×11 gives ~120 gear inches (hard/fast) and a 34×32 gives ~28 gear inches (easy climbing). Higher = harder gear; lower = easier. Full lookup table below.
